These meters measure moisture content in wood and other building materials. The LCD indicates a relative moisture reading in numeric digits from 0.0 to 99.9 and provides an audio/visual alarm that indicates three levels of moisture: low, medium, and high. Alarms are activated if the moisture measurements exceed predetermined set points. Other features include material selection switch, automatic calibration, hold function, low-battery indicator, and auto power-off.

Model MMD4E uses pins to measure moisture content on materials that require penetration to get a reliable reading.

Model MMD5NP permits noninvasive measurement of moisture content to a depth of ¾” (19 mm) below the surface of materials using pinless technology
