These thermometers are precision manufactured to conform to ASTM E-1 specifications except for not being mercury filled. Designed for use in quality control laboratories or when mercury filled thermometers can not be used but where ASTM standards are still needed. ASTM established thermometer standards suited for special applications, and assigned an ASTM number according to each specification.

Thermometers feature permanently fused markings, blue spirit liquid, white background glass; are also individually serial numbered.
