A specially designed locking cap on these 5 mL microcentrifuge tubes securely snaps shut providing the highest level of sample security. It prevents accidental opening of the cap and evaporation of samples during long term storage. These conical bottom tubes are made of transparent polypropylene and have easy to read graduations from 0.5 to 5 mL in 0.5 mL increments, and a frosted marking area.

With a MAX RCF (maximum relative centrifugal force) of 25,000 x g, these microcentrifuge tubes have a temperature range of -80 °C (-112 °F) to 121 °C (250 °F). Sterilization is possible within this range without risk of them deforming or losing transparency. They are DNase/RNase-free, nonpyrogenic, and conform to USP Class VI standards.
